- ──────┤ What Job Summary? 1.2f 7/26/1993
-
- This is the fully functional, Unregistered Edition of What Job
- Summary? Other than a pause at start-up, it is identical to the
- Registered Edition (i.e., it is not "crippled").
-
- WJS provides any easy way to track the status of the jobs on which
- your company is bidding or working. WJS was originally written for
- a paving company in Central New York.
-
- The only practical limit of WJS is your disk space. You need never
- close-out a year (i.e., remove its data from the disk) if the
- computer's speed and disk storage are adequate.
-
- On a 360k floppy disk there is about 100k of free space. My paving
- company client uses a bit less than 64k for one year of information,
- so you can figure that a 360k disk will hold one to three years of
- information, depending on how many jobs you do per year. A hard
- disk is best, however, since it is so much faster and safer.
-
- Integrated back-up/restore/format floppies functions make WJS a
- complete environment in which even a novice user can manage data
- without the need for addition software or knowledge of DOS commands.
- A brief on-line manual is accessible within the programme (via the
- Help/Index menu).
-
- Mouse support is installed on menus only. I don't know anyone who
- is using WJS with a mouse -- if you are, tell me and it will give me
- the encouragement I need to enhance the mouse support.
-
- Documentation on-disk is provided in TWO FORMATS: ASCII and
- WordPerfect 5.1. If the user has WordPerfect (or a conversion
- utility) the documentation can be properly formatted for their
- printer, taking advantage of special fonts and often saving paper
- over 10cpi printing.
-
-
